COURSE LAYOUT


D2R is a completely self-paced program. The course contents will be recorded and released over a one year period. You can take the course by watching live, or watching the recordings or a combination of the two. The content never expires so you don't need to worry about life getting in the way. 

To Begin:
Upon enrolling and paying for the course you will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to set up your private course site membership as well as other pertinent information about how to successfully take the course. 

Prerequisites:
The course contains two prerequisite sessions which enrolled members will have access to one week prior to the start of the course. Each session is roughly two hours long and can be watched all at once or as your time permits. 

The first prerequisite is on the topic of yoga philosophy and outlines the major teachings and philosophical and theoretical concepts that yoga classes are trying to transmit to their students. The second prerequisite contains an outline of the anatomy/physiology concepts that we will be covering and utilizing throughout the course. and contains the and the other on yoga philosophy. 

Both sessions are prerecorded and will be released one week prior to the start of the course. Enrolled members with receive an email alert when the prerequisites are released for viewing.

Introductory Session:
There are four introductory sessions that will be streamed live on January 18 & 25 and February 1 & 8. The recordings of these sessions will be available to stream in the private membership group the next day, Friday. 
Monthly Updates Lesson
Each month we will dive into another category of poses and related topics so that over the course of the year we will have covered all of the common poses, styles of yoga, and issues pertaining to the yoga world right now including power dynamics, trauma informed approaches, the nervous system, hands on assists, and much more.

The monthly lesson live steams will occur the 1st Thursday of each month, the recording will be posted later that day. Dates listed below, scroll down. 

Monthly Homework/Discussion Roundtable & Q&A Update
Each month there will be a live/recorded homework update where we will go over all the D2R answers to that month's homework and have a roundtable discussion and Q&A. You will have a chance to fill out your manual, ask questions, share your success and more!

The monthly homework update will occur the 4th Tuesday of each month. Dates listed below, scroll down.

All monthly updates will be available to watch live and/or via the recordings which will be posted the day after the the live stream has ended.

Optional Weekly Asana Practice Add-On
For just $200 you can add live/recorded weekly asana practices rooted in the D2R techniques to the course. 

These practices will help you to physically explore the D2R concepts as well as to deepen your relationship to your personal yoga practice. 

The practices will take place on Wednesday's at 1:30pm eastern standard time. Recordings of the sessions will be posted to the membership site within 24 hours after the end of each practice.

The Reconstruct & Reimagine method and theory shows you how to rebuild poses and activities that have the same benefits and qualities of experience that students have grown to love (so long as they're wise, sustainable and accessible) while reworking and replacing the components that cause exclusivity or a lack of sustainability. Learn to change your classes in a way that doesn't disrupt the familiarity and style that your students are used to and love  about your classes.

The monthly course updates will introduce you to a new family of related postures. These postures will be run through the same Deconstruct, Reconstruct, Reimagine and Universal Design processes that you learned during the four intro sessions. The repetition of the process will solidify the method so that you are able to use it in an ongoing way to assess the accessibility and sustainability of any activity or pose following the end of the course. By the completion of the course we will have covered the full range of poses used in classes today and so much more.

Optional Weekly Asana Practice Add-On - Weds 1:30-2:30PM EST

Add-on a weekly asana group practice that you can attend live on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30PM eastern standard time or that you can watch via recording. The practices will reinforce the D2R concepts and allow you to explore them in real time. Taking part in these practices will also reconnect you to your love of your personal yoga practice and help you to reinvigorate your teaching style.

Alexandria is an internationally respected teachers’ teacher who leads teacher trainings and workshops around the world.
