COURSE LAYOUT


D2R is a completely self-paced program. The course contents will be recorded and released over a one year period. You can take the course by watching live, or watching the recordings or a combination of the two. The content never expires so you don't need to worry about life getting in the way. To Begin:
Upon enrolling and paying for the course you will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to set up your private course membership site as well as other pertinent information about how to successfully take the course. 

Prerequisites:
The course contains two prerequisite sessions which enrolled members will have access to one week prior to the start of the course. Each session is roughly two hours long and can be watched all at once or as your time permits. 

The first prerequisite is on the topic of yoga philosophy and outlines the major teachings and philosophical and theoretical concepts that yoga classes are trying to transmit to their students. The second prerequisite contains an outline of the anatomy/physiology concepts that we will be covering and utilizing throughout the course. and contains the and the other on yoga philosophy. 
Both sessions are prerecorded and will be released one week prior to the start of the course. Enrolled members with receive an email alert when the prerequisites are released for viewing.

Introductory Session:
There are four introductory sessions that will be streamed live on January 14, 21, 28 and February 4. The recordings of these sessions will be available to stream in the private membership group the next day, Friday. 

Monthly Updates:
Each month we will dive into another category of poses and related topics so that over the course of the year we will have covered all of the common poses, styles of yoga, and issues pertaining to the yoga world right now including power dynamics, trauma informed approaches, the nervous system, hands on assists, and much more.

The first monthly update will be streamed live on March 2 at 2pm est. The subsequent ten monthly updates will stream live on the first Tuesday of each month ending with the final session occurring on January 4, 2022.

All monthly updates will be available to watch live and/or via the recordings which will be posted the day after the the live stream has ended.

The philosophical concepts of a yoga practice from the Bhagavad Gītā and The Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali presented in clear and applicable ways.

All of the anatomy and physiology terms and concepts you'll need to learn and become familiar with to successfully complete the course.

Learn how to assess these qualities for validity and sustainability so that you can Reconstruct new poses and activities that have the same feeling and qualities of experience while removing any and all of the prior pitfalls.

Learn to change your classes in a way that doesn't disrupt the familiarity and style that your students are used to and love  about your classes.

These postures will be run through the same Deconstruct, Reconstruct, Reimagine and Universal Design processes that you learned during the four intro sessions. The repetition of the process will solidify the method so that you are able to use it in an ongoing way to assess the accessibility and sustainability of any activity or pose following the end of the course. By the completion of the course we will have covered the full range of poses used in classes today and so much more.

Alexandria is an internationally respected teachers’ teacher who leads teacher trainings and workshops around the world. Through her Yoga Physics methodology she aims to clearly explain the whats, whys, and hows of asana, meditation and yogic philosophy, making the practice approachable for everyone, of every level and of every walk of life.
